Insurance & COI Disclosures

Effective May 28, 2026

This page summarizes the commercial insurance program maintained by Openoffice Technologies, Inc. dba Bluclock ("Bluclock") for assignments booked through the Bluclock platform (the "Services"). It is a plain-language summary for clients, officers, and venues — the controlling document is the policy itself and any Certificate of Insurance ("COI") issued for a specific job. In the event of a conflict, the policy and COI govern.

1. Coverage Provided on Every Job

Bluclock maintains a Commercial General Liability ("CGL") program that covers third-party bodily injury and third-party property damage arising out of the Bluclock-platform engagement, subject to the terms, conditions, exclusions, and limits of the underlying policy. Standard program parameters (subject to change at renewal):

  • $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate CGL
  • Coverage extends to assignments performed by vetted officers on the platform
  • The cost of providing this coverage is passed through to the client as a separate "Coverage & Compliance" line item on every quote (a base per-shift fee plus a small percentage of the job total; high-risk event types carry a higher percentage).

2. What Is NOT Covered

The CGL program does not extend to, among other things:

  • Use of force, weapons, or firearms discharge — officers act under the authority of their sworn status, their employing agency's policies, applicable state licensing (e.g., LEOSA / HR-218 for retired officers), and their own personal / agency-provided professional liability coverage. Bluclock's CGL is not a use-of-force, assault & battery, or law-enforcement liability policy.
  • Intentional, criminal, or grossly negligent acts
  • Auto liability (vehicles operated on behalf of a client must be insured separately)
  • Workers' compensation (officers are independent contractors — see §6)
  • Damage to property in the officer's care, custody, or control
  • Professional liability / errors & omissions for advice or consulting separate from the booked engagement
  • Cyber, employment practices, and directors & officers exposures
  • Events explicitly excluded from the underlying policy (e.g., certain high-risk venues or activities not pre-approved)

3. Requesting a Certificate of Insurance (COI)

Clients may request a COI for any booked job from the Bluclock dashboard. Standard COIs name Openoffice Technologies, Inc. dba Bluclock as the insured and list the job site, dates, and the certificate holder. Standard COIs are included with every job.

Additional Insured endorsements (naming a venue, property manager, event producer, or other third party as Additional Insured) are available for a flat $25 endorsement fee per certificate and require advance lead time (typically 2–5 business days depending on the carrier).

4. High-Risk Engagements

Executive protection, nightclubs, concerts, professional sporting events, political rallies, and other engagements identified as higher risk are billed at an elevated COI percentage to reflect carrier loading. Certain engagements may require additional underwriting, a separate event rider, or may be declined.

5. Client Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate site information, attendance estimates, alcohol-service plans, and any known threats or prior incidents at the time of booking.
  • Maintain the client's own property, premises liability, and (where applicable) liquor liability insurance.
  • Promptly report any incident, injury, or claim involving an officer to support@bluclock.com so that the carrier can be notified within policy reporting windows.

6. Officer Status & Coverage

Officers booked through Bluclock are independent contractors. They are not employees of Bluclock, and Bluclock does not provide workers' compensation, unemployment, or health benefits to officers. Active-duty officers performing approved off-duty details typically operate under their employing agency's policies and any agency-provided coverage. Retired officers operate under their LEOSA / state qualification status and any personal professional-liability coverage they maintain. See the Independent Contractor Agreement for the full scope of contractor obligations.

7. Subrogation & Indemnity

Nothing on this page waives Bluclock's rights of subrogation or any client or officer obligation to indemnify Bluclock under the Terms and Conditions. Coverage is not a substitute for the contractual indemnities set forth in those Terms.

8. Changes to the Program

Insurance markets evolve. Bluclock may change carriers, limits, deductibles, exclusions, or pricing at renewal or otherwise on notice. The Coverage & Compliance fee shown at checkout reflects pricing at the time of booking.
